Ruth D. Bostater, age 73, of rural Bryan, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana, while undergoing surgery. She was a telephone operator for the former General Telephone Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Farmer United Methodist Church and the Farmer American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth D. Bostater was born on July 21, 1931, in Paulding County, Ohio, the daughter of Donald and Hazel Jane (Morhart) Poth. She married George Richard Bostater on August 28, 1948, in Williams County, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1974. Surviving Mrs. Bostater are her two daughters, Cathryn S. (David) Bok, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Deborah K. (Michael) Bittinger of Ney, Ohio, six grandchildren, Brian (Tanya) Bok, Leslie (Diane) Bok, Philip Bittinger, Heather (Christopher “Brian”) Sutton, Elissa (Rafael) Friend and Emily (Brian) Schuller, ten great-grandchildren and one brother, Bert (Donna) Poth of Napoleon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lee Poth and one sister, Helen Blosser. Funeral services for Ruth D. Bostater will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2004, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Wilbert Bok officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Bostater will be held on Friday, October 29, 2004, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
