Larry U. Devers

Larry U. Devers, 64 years, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:09 a.m. Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Dilworth Center of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Montpelier, Ohio. An Air Force Veteran, Mr. Devers was a tool and die maker for the former Aro Corporation for over 28 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Devers memberships include the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233, Montpelier Eagles Aerie #2246, Montpelier Moose Lodge #312, Bryan AMVETS Post #54 and the American Legion. Larry U. Devers was born on January 1, 1940, in Paulding, Ohio, the son of Paul R. and Dorothy L. (Dotterer) Devers. He married Betty DeGryse in 1962. He then married Susan M. Woodart on June 29, 1985 in Bryan, Ohio and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Devers is survived by two sons, Denny A. (Dawn) Devers of Edgerton and Johnny E. (Mary) Devers of Montpelier; two daughters, Sheri K. (Jackie) Watkins of Bryan and Dena D. (Robert) Sailer of Hicksville; Ten grandchildren, Nathan and Kevin Devers, Derek, Kyle and Dale Devers, Adam Stockman, Michael and Paige Watkins, Dustin and Dillon Sailer, three step-grandchildren, Tiffani, Jackie and Leah Watkins, one brother, Jack (Nancy) Devers and four sisters, Floella Handy of Hicksville, Phyllis (John) Worthan of Montpelier, Geraldine “Pudge” (Nolan) Mobley of Paulding and Judith “Jeep” (Larry) Harper of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Johnson. Memorial services for Larry U. Devers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004 in the Krill Funeral Home 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan with Pastor Daniel Orr, officiating. Visitation for Mr. Devers will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service in the Krill Funeral Home. Memorials in the name of Larry U. Devers may be given to the family.
