Vidal R. Rivera

DATELINE: BRYAN, OHIO VIDAL R. RIVERA Vidal R. Rivera, age 76, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2004, at his residence after a brief illness. Mr. Rivera was a lifelong resident of the Bryan area. He attended the Melbern United Methodist Church. Vidal was a machinist for the General Motors Foundry in Defiance, Ohio, for 40 years, retiring in 1993. Vidal R. Rivera was born on October 2, 1928, in Comeria, Puerto Rico, the son of Claudio and Mercedia (Rivera) Rivera. He married Gertrude M. Ramey on February 6, 1972, in Defiance, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Rivera is survived by two daughters, Rita Wheeler of Bryan, Ohio, and Virginia Leon of Florida, three step-daughters, Susie (Kirk) Mack of Detroit, Michigan, Mildred Mullins of West Virginia, and Lori Mullins of Edgerton, Ohio, two step-sons, Charlie (Terri) Mullins and Johnny Kelly, both of West Virginia, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, five brothers, Angel, Confer, Raul, Louis and Miguel Rivera, and two sisters, Raquel Rivera and Celia Rivera. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services for Vidal R. Rivera will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2004, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Diane Schaffner officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Center Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Rivera will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Vidal R. Rivera may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care or the charity of the donor’s choice.
