Tony Vitek

Tony Vitek, 78 years, of Montpelier, Ohio, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004, in his residence. An Army veteran of WWII, Tony was employed by Central Transport as Terminal Manager and Dispatcher for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. Tony was also an auctioneer for the Carlin Company, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the House of Prayer, Montpelier, Ohio. Tony Vitek was born on January 8, 1926, in Hicksville, Ohio, the son of Peter and Cecelia (Mezeic) Vitek. He married Helga Elgleb on August 23, 1947, and she preceded him in death on February 15, 1985. He then married Joan Hartsock on January 10, 1986, in Montpelier, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Joan, Tony is survived by his children, Karen J. Sims and Gerry M. (Kathy) Vitek, both of Bryan, Ohio, and Randy G. (Marcia S.) Vitek of Defiance, Ohio, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one sister, Ann (Lowell) Figgins of Bryan, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Helga, two brothers, Frank and George Vitek and one sister, Julia Cottrell. Funeral services for Tony Vitek will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Don Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation for Tony Vitek will be held on Friday, November 19, 2004, for 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
