Edward W. Bigger, age 80, of Edgerton, Ohio, died Friday, November 26, 2004, at Parkview Nursing Center, Edgerton, Ohio, where he was a resident for the past week. Mr. Bigger was a WW II Army Veteran. He was a crane operator for the former New York Central Railroad and also for several salvage yards in the area, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Bryan American Legion Post #284 and the Bryan VFW Post #2489. Edward W. Bigger was born on May 20, 1924, in Schneider, Indiana, the son of John Henry and Betsy Ellen (Victor) Bigger. Mr. Bigger is survived by five children, Victoria J. (James) Speakman, of Edgerton, Master Sargent (Retired USMC) Edward A. (Charlene) Bigger, of Edon, Anthony A. (Brenda) Bigger of Bryan, Jack E. Bigger of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Nancy J. (Kent) Thiel of Blakeslee, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward W. Bigger, Jr., six brothers, Vernon, John Henry, Russell, Ernie, Leo and Clarence Bigger, and two sisters, Phyllis Jean Morrison and Agnes Gonser. Services for Edward W. Bigger will be Monday, November 29, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Rev. Robert Knapp officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2004. Memorials in the name of Edward W. Bigger may be given to the Community Health and Wellness Centers-Hospice Care.
