Cletus C. "Hinie" Cape

The angels came down and took Edgerton Bulldog fan Cletus C. "Hinie" Cape, age 89, to heaven to be with his loving wife, Virginia, on Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at 8:50 a.m. at Parkview Nursing Center in Edgerton, where he was a resident. Mr. Cape was a farmer and also was employed by Edgerton Manufacturing for twelve years prior to the closing of the plant. "Hinie" was a lifelong fan of the Edgerton Bulldogs. His entire life was dedicated to God, family, friends and sports. He followed every Edgerton sports team through every year of victory or defeat. His humor, joking, and honest good-loving nature stole the hearts of all those he met in life. Hinie's life has touched many hearts and his love of life and his laughter will be cherished forever by those who loved him. He was member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton. Cletus C. "Hinie" Cape was born September 6, 1915, near Edgerton, Ohio, the son of John and Minnie (Riley) Cape. He married Virginia Keller on January 15, 1949, in Edgerton and she preceeded him in death on November 8, 1993. Mr. Cape is survived by one son, Steven (Cindy) Cape, of Angola, Indiana, one daughter, Mary (Victor) Juarez, of Edgerton, Ohio, eight grandchildren, Jeremy and Justin Cape, Hannah Cape, Christie (Eric) Thein, Marjoe Gineman and Ian Gineman, Shawn Juarez and Crystal Jaquay. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and one niece, Carol Thomas, of Edgerton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi Moore and Helen F. Parker. Service for Cletus C. "Hinie" Cape will be Friday, November 19, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, with recitation of the rosary at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials in the name of Cletus C. "Hinie" Cape may be given to St. Mary's Church or School, the Edgerton Local Schools Athletic Department or Athletic Association or Parkview Nursing Center.
