Janice May Ridgway

May 31, 1936 — October 1, 2022

Janice May Ridgway (Faunce) of Granbury, Tx., was born May 31, 1936, to Dorothy May and Vern A. Faunce in Montpelier, Ohio. She went to be with Jesus, and family she loves, Oct. 1, 2022, at 86 years, after a short but serious illness. Much of Jan’s life was filled as a homemaker, but she worked stints at Spangler Candy Company, Haliburton, and Tomco Plastics. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1954. She and Kenneth Hugh Ridgway married on July 9th, 1955. They were blessed with 3 children, Mark Steven, Kathy Ellen and Michael Gene. She has 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Jan is survived by her daughter, Kathy Tingley (and Jim) of Granbury, Tx.; her son, Mike Ridgway (and Christina) of Bryan, Ohio and her brother, Gary Faunce (and Barbara) of Edon Ohio. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenny; her parents; her first son, Mark; her sister, Jean Reese; brothers Junior, Denny and Raymond Faunce and her precious granddaughter, Marcia. In recent years Janice had a subscription to Kindle Unlimited and she read a lot, sometimes a whole book each day. She had two e readers so one of them always had a charged battery. She especially enjoyed phone calls with her brother Gary, in Ohio and Jim’s sister, Kay in Maine, Marion and others, too. She was quite independent right up until very recently, making a pot of coffee every morning at 6 AM and preparing her own simple meals and snacks. She even enjoyed it when Kathy and Jim would leave for a few days, leaving her in charge of the house, feeding the dogs etc. The neighbors and other family were always nearby for her. She said she never needed or wanted anything for Christmas or special occasions, but truthfully, she loved wrapped packages and was always excited to get new dolls for her collection. Janice preferred not to leave the house, but on the way home from church she always said, “and I really did enjoy Sunday school and church”. She has attended faithfully for 9 years at Elm Grove Assembly of God in Tolar, Texas. She cherished hugs from her family and her church family, many of whom called her “Little Momma”. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, Oct. 9th at Elm Grove Church, Tolar, Texas. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. No more anxiety, no more fear, no more pain. His breath fills your lungs and His blood flows through your heart. Perfection. We love you and miss you.
