Marlene Joyce (Lescar) Maraugha, age 84, of Pioneer, OH, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2026.
Marlene was born in Uniontown, PA, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hornsby) Lescar. Beloved wife of 51 years to the late Frank H. Maraugha; loving mother of Misty Maraugha-Gunning (John), Frank Maraugha, Terri Ladd (David), Todd Maraugha (Tim Miller), and Mark E. Maraugha (Cynthia); dear “Gram” of Korey Ladd (Lonnie), Kassie Ladd, Markie Maraugha and Marlee Maraugha; loving great grandmother of Aubrey, Presley, Knox and Gwen; sister of Larry Lescar (Paula) and the late Phyllis Churilla; also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Marlene retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service in the food industry. She loved spending time camping at Nettle Lake, a tradition she cherished for over two decades. Marlene had a passion for jewelry and always enjoyed a shopping trip, especially when it involved her favorite QVC finds. She was known for her love of blinged-out sweaters and stylish tops, which reflected her flair for fashion.
Above all else, Marlene cherished her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with those she loved, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and the many happy memories she created with those closest to her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Sandstone Post Acute Care and Sincere Hospice Care for the loving care and compassion they both provided to Marlene. Their kindness, dedication, and support brought comfort to both Marlene and her family and will always be deeply appreciated.
Per Marlene’s wishes there is no visitation or funeral services. Arrangements were entrusted to the Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home, Inc. 7441 Washington Street Swissvale, where her son Mark has been a funeral director and manager for over 25 years.
The family requests memorial donations be made in Marlene’s name to Sophia’s Grace Foundation Small Pet rescue.
