Rick L. Northrup

Rickie L. “Rick” Northrup, age 63, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio, following a long battle with cancer. Rick worked at Bryan Wash & Fill for 47½ years prior to his medical retirement. Rick was a member of the Bryan and Montpelier Eagles. He was a faithful member of Bridging the Gap Church. He enjoyed camping for many years at Hickory Acres campground, hunting and being outdoors.

Rick was born on January 14, 1963, in Hillsdale, MI, the son of Gerald F. and Anna K. (Slusher) Northrup. He married Helena Fackler on February 14, 2004, and she preceded him in death on November 16, 2022.

Rick is survived by his son, Jared (Andrea) Northrup, of Bryan; stepchildren Kyle (Courtney) Cooper and Cindy Turpening, both of Defiance; grandchildren, Chloe, Madoc, Ivan and Rowan Northrup; step grandchildren, Talan, Miley, Presley, and Jett; brothers, Doug Northrup and Dan (Pepper) Northrup, both of Bryan and sisters, Martha Riggs and Diane Northrup, both of Defiance. Along with his wife, Rick was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Sherry; brother, David Northrup and sister, Nora Eagle.

A celebration of Rick’s life will be held Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Bridging the Gap Church, 110 S. Defiance St., Stryker, OH 43557. He will laid to rest at Brunersburg Cemetery, Defiance with his wife, Helena.

In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorial contributions may be made to Bridging the Gap Church.
